Compare ray tracing performance with 3DMark
With these new controllers and our 3DMark Port Royal reference test, you can now measure and compare the real-time ray tracing performance of GTX cards using common ray tracking shading cores and RTX connector cards. in dedicated hardware load, and compare ray tracking.
3DMark Port Royal is the first reference in the world for ray tracing in real time for players.
With Port Royal, you can test and compare the real-time ray tracing performance of any graphics card that supports Microsoft DirectX ray tracing. This now includes NVIDIA GeForce GTX cards from GeForce GTX 1060 6GB to GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.
Port Royal uses DirectX ray tracing to improve reflections, shadows and other effects that are difficult to achieve with traditional rendering techniques.
You can use custom execution settings to make the Port Royal test more or less demanding to determine how performance affects graphics cards that lack hardware support for ray tracking.
Port Royal is now available in 3DMark Advanced Edition and 3DMark Professional Edition. It is not possible to run Port Royal in 3DMark Basic Edition or the demonstration of 3DMark in Steam.
To run Port Royal, you need the Windows update on October 10 and a graphics card with drivers compatible with Microsoft DirectX ray tracking.
